Youtube is hoping to take advantage of AI music hosted on its platform, without getting copyright backlash.

YouTube maintains that "AI is here" and that it must have a "responsible" strategy. In other words, let’s maximise our revenue will not p*ssing off big music companies.

To achieve this, The company and partners like Universal Music Group have unveiled a set of principles for AI music. The goal is to strike a balance by encouraging AI adoption while keeping artists paid.

YouTube says AI music must include "appropriate protections" against copyright violations, and must also provide "opportunities" for partners who want to get involved. Sounds reasonable.

🖥️ AI WILL PREVENT CYBER ATTACKS IN SCHOOLS… MAYBE

Cybersecurity experts say artificial intelligence may be the key to preventing some ransomware attacks at American schools.

Schools in the US have collectively reported over 1600 cyber attacks since 2016.

The Director of K-12 SIX, a charity that advocates and educates on cyber security in schools, says AI can solve this.

Doug Levin said: “One of the benefits of AI is that they can be that set of virtual eyes on the school networks when the IT staff are not able to do that.”

“AI can actually take proactive steps to help defend those networks from cyber criminals who are trying to penetrate their systems and steal valuable data.”
