You upload a room pic, AI designs a rug.

AI TECH

Arcade, the generative AI platform best known for custom jewellery, is now branching into homeware, starting with rugs.

Their new “Match My Room” feature lets you upload a photo of your space, so the AI can suggest rug colours that complement what you already have.

It’s not perfect, and it won’t replicate patterns from your cushions or throws, but it does a decent job with colour matching.

Like its jewellery tool, Arcade uses Midjourney and Stable Diffusion to turn your text prompts into made-to-order designs.

Pick a rug material, describe the look you’re after, and the AI handles the rest.

A manufacturer sends you a free sample before you commit.

Prices start at around $400 for basic wool options, with cashmere and alpaca at the higher end.

To support this new direction, Arcade just raised $25 million in Series A funding, bringing its total to $42 million.

The money will go towards hiring, expanding the platform, and adding more product categories like ceramics and leather goods.

  • The platform also continues to grow its creative community:

  • “Dream Boards” let users collect themed designs, like mood boards for AI-made products.

  • Commission for sellers has doubled from 2.5% to 5%.

Dream boards > mood boards

A new entrepreneur programme offers higher earnings for creators and influencers with large audiences.

Since launching in September 2024, Arcade says it’s produced 650,000 jewellery designs, though it hasn’t said how many are actually being sold.

Arcade’s Dream Boards are giving “manifestation but make it shoppable.”
