You can now listen to your Google searches

Google is now testing Audio Overviews in Search, a feature that reads out short summaries for certain queries using its Gemini AI models.

It’s designed for people who prefer listening over reading, or just want a hands-free way to take in information.

This isn’t totally new. Audio Overviews first showed up in NotebookLM and later in Gemini, where users could generate podcast-style recaps from things like course notes or legal documents.

Now, when you search on Google, you might see an option to listen to a quick overview.

In brief:

  • Audio Overviews are rolling out in Google Search for select queries.

  • They're powered by Gemini and aim to support more accessible, audio-based learning.

  • Players come with source links and the ability to leave feedback.

Lazy girl reading list

If it shows up, you’ll get a simple player with play/pause buttons, volume controls, and links to the sources used.

Google says it’s great for multitasking or anyone who absorbs info better by ear.

You can also rate each overview and the whole experiment with a thumbs up or down.

It’s available now via Labs.

I mean, we asked for AI help, not bedtime stories, but we’ll take it.
