Yes, your TV now does homework help

Google is starting to replace Google Assistant with Gemini on Google TV devices. The aim is to make voice search feel more natural.

You can now ask things like:

“I like dramas, but my wife likes comedies, what should we watch?”

“What happened at the end of Outlander last season?”

“What’s the new hospital show everyone’s talking about?”

Gemini pulls up

Gemini also works beyond TV. It can answer general questions, explain topics for kids, or help you follow DIY tips and recipes using YouTube videos.

To use it, just hold the mic button on your remote. The update is rolling out over the next few weeks for users aged 18+.

Gemini is also coming to select TCL and Hisense TVs in 2025 and is already on the Walmart Onn 4K Pro streamer.

This update is part of Google’s wider plan to fully replace Assistant with Gemini.
