🚨 GOOGLE GEMINI IS OUT
WE GOT IT WRONG!
A couple of days ago we reported that Google’s next-gen AI, Gemini, was delayed until early next year.
Well, either that was bogus or Google said “f*ck it!”
Gemini is OUT NOW, and it's absolutely huge.
Is The ChatGPT killer here?
Gemini is such a big release because it is rumoured to be leagues ahead of GPT-4.
In fact, Google published a side-by-side comparison, take a look…
Take it with a pinch of salt…
And that’s just for text applications.
Look at the full comparison here.
Gemini comes in three forms - Nano, Pro and Ultra. We are seeing Ultra (the most expensive and powerful model), compared to GPT-4 here.
For now, Pro is free inside Google bard, and Ultra is a paid model coming soon.
Nano will be deployed for everyday on-device tasks, with Pro for more advanced applications, and Ultra for MAXIMUMMM POWERRRR.
Gemini is fully multi-modal. What does that mean? It can mix inputs and outputs of any kind.
For example, you can ask it to make a story based on a video, or vice versa.
For now, Gemini is only available in the US, meaning I can’t access it here in the U.K.
*screeches*
Google AI Apps coming soon
Google is also launching an AI application builder on December 13th, allowing you to build Gemini into web apps.
It sounds similar to GPTs, but with more capability.

It’s here and it’s MASSIVE. Google need an AI win, as their efforts thus far have been… poor. Now hurry up and give access to us Brits! (Did they forget DeepMind was founded in the U.K?)

Zuckerberg has set his sights on DALL-E, and fired a rocket.
Meta has launched a fully standalone image generator, called Imagine with Meta.
It’s completely free to use, you just need a Meta account.
This one is also currently only available in the US, but I managed to get access with a VPN.
How does it stack up?
The interface is very simple, and there aren’t any advanced controls for prompting yet.
I tried the prompt “a bear in the woods, RAW”.
Here’s the result:
Not bad, but lack of further controls is very limiting. You an only generate square images for example.
