WIMBLEDON
Want the tea on who’s winning? Ask the bot
Wimbledon is stepping up its tech game this year with a new set of AI tools designed to give fans a more interactive experience.
First up is Match Chat, an AI assistant that lets you ask questions and get real-time insights during singles matches.
It's built on IBM’s Watson X platform and trained to understand the tone of Wimbledon coverage and the language of tennis.
Alongside that, an upgraded Likelihood to Win tool will show live win predictions, updating as the match unfolds.
Three things to note:
Match Chat answers real-time questions using Wimbledon-style tennis language
Likelihood to Win gives live predictions based on stats and match shifts
Both tools are part of IBM Slamtracker on the official app and site
It uses stats, expert input, and momentum tracking to estimate who’s most likely to win at any point in the game.
Both features are powered by IBM tech like Granite language models and Red Hat OpenShift, and will be available through IBM Slamtracker on the Wimbledon app and website.
Not me asking an AI who’s gonna win like it’s tarot.
