OPENAI
The line between chat and search just vanished
OpenAI just launched ChatGPT Atlas, a new web browser built around its chatbot.
Instead of switching tabs, Atlas lets you browse and chat in the same window.
It understands what’s on your screen, remembers what you’ve looked at (if you want it to), and can even take action, like researching, planning, or shopping, without leaving the page.
There’s also an optional memory feature, so ChatGPT can recall context from the sites you visit to give better answers later.
You can view, edit, or delete these memories anytime, and by default, your data isn’t used to train OpenAI’s models unless you choose to.
TL;DR
Atlas blends ChatGPT into your browsing, no more copy-paste.
Memory makes it more personal and context-aware.
Agent mode can do tasks for you while keeping your privacy in check.
Tabs?! Don’t know her
A new agent mode lets ChatGPT handle small tasks on its own, from booking appointments to compiling notes, though it’s still in early testing and may make mistakes.
Atlas is rolling out worldwide on macOS for Free, Plus, Pro, and Go users, with Windows, iOS, and Android versions coming soon.
Remember when multitasking meant 10 tabs? Atlas said, “nah, one’s enough.”- MG
