FIGMA
The great Figma land grab
Figma wants AI to do the coding, too
Figma has announced a wave of AI-powered updates aimed at bringing design, coding and website building into one workspace.
The goal is to help teams go from a rough idea to a finished product without juggling 17 different tools and questioning their career choices.
Here's what's new:
Teams can import working code from GitHub, websites and local files straight into Figma, where everyone can review and improve it together.
A new tool keeps project plans, design decisions and instructions in one place, while updated design systems help AI agents stick to a company's branding. Because AI apparently needs reminding that brand guidelines exist.
Teams can build and manage websites without touching code, while 20 new integrations connect Figma with external AI tools to move designs and prototypes between platforms.
Everyone's invited, even the robots
With AI making it easier to build apps and websites, Figma wants designers, developers and marketers working together rather than disappearing into their own coding caves.
The bigger picture is Figma's push to become a place where teams can design, build and launch products together, even when AI is doing some of the heavy lifting.
How long until they’re swallowed up for billions? -MV
