Spotify is finally letting you fix the algorithm’s bad takes

Spotify is rolling out a new beta feature that lets users review and edit their Taste Profile for the first time.

This is the system behind recommendations like Discover Weekly, Made For You playlists, and Spotify Wrapped.

The feature will first launch for Premium users in New Zealand.

It will show all the listening data linked to a user’s profile, including music, podcasts, and audiobooks.

Users will then be able to adjust their profile with natural language prompts, asking Spotify for more or less of certain types of content.

Here’s what matters:

  • Users will be able to edit the profile behind Spotify’s recommendations.

  • The update could make suggestions and Wrapped results more accurate.

  • It will launch first for Premium users in New Zealand.

Delete the cringe

This matters because recommendations do not always reflect what someone actually likes.

Shared accounts, kids’ music, sleep sounds, and background listening can all affect a user’s profile over time.

Spotify has offered some controls before, but they were limited.

This update gives users a clearer way to manage what shapes their recommendations.

The feature is expected to expand to more markets after its New Zealand rollout.
