AI + EQ

Silicon Valley has a feelings guy

As AI moves faster, some of the people building it are turning to executive coaching to handle the pressure.

Joe Hudson, who works with leaders at major AI labs including OpenAI, focuses on “emotional fluidity”.

Basically, it means feeling difficult emotions without letting them take over every decision.

His company, Art of Accomplishment, teaches leaders how to manage conflict, build trust and communicate more clearly.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has praised Hudson’s work, saying emotional clarity could become important in a future shaped by advanced AI.

In brief:

  • AI leaders are using coaching to manage stress and conflict.

  • Hudson’s method focuses on trust, communication and emotional awareness.

  • As AI makes knowledge easier to access, emotional intelligence could become a bigger leadership advantage.

Like premium therapy

Supporters say the approach can reduce burnout, improve retention and help teams make tough calls faster.

Because apparently, even the people building superintelligence still need help having awkward conversations.

Emotional fluidity” sounds like something printed on a £400 candle. Probably exists too. -MG
