RIP to moving shapes around for 45 minutes
Google is launching Google Pics, a new AI image tool for creating and editing visuals inside Google Workspace.
The tool uses Google’s Nano Banana image model and will roll out over the next few weeks to most Workspace users, plus Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Google Pics is made for everyday design tasks like posters, social posts, illustrations and work graphics.
Instead of building designs from scratch, users can type a prompt and let the AI create the image for them.
Here’s what it is in brief:
Create with prompts: Describe what you want and the AI makes it.
Easy editing: Change objects, text and other parts of an image.
Built into Workspace: It works inside Google’s existing work apps.

It also includes editing tools for changing objects, editing or translating text inside images, making several versions of the same image, and working on designs with other people.
Google Pics is starting in Docs and Slides, with Google Drive support coming later.
