🚨 HUGE OPENAI BREAKTHROUGH TERRIFIES ENGINEERS

It sounds crazy…

But it’s been revealed that two senior OpenAI engineers wrote to the board to warn them about a threat to humanity, after a breakthrough recently at the company.

This all took place during the Altman-saga, leading many to ask if it is linked to the board’s attempt to remove him.

The Big Breakthrough…

The two anonymous individuals claim this letter, which informed directors that a secret project named Q* resulted in A.I. solving grade school level mathematics, reignited tensions over whether Altman was proceeding too fast.

Why is that such a big deal? Computers have been solving mathematical problems forever, right?

The difference is, that this new model showed the ability to pick the most efficient method for solving solutions.

This suggests a capacity for higher reasoning.

This could potentially be the first step towards developing artificial general intelligence, a form of AI that can surpass humans.

The key to Altman’s departure?

The breakthrough may have triggered the attempt to replace Sam Altman as CEO at OpenAI, due the board panicking he is moving AI development too quickly.

Altman said just a couple of weeks ago: “Four times now in the history of OpenAI—the most recent time was just in the last couple of weeks—I’ve gotten to be in the room, when we sort of push the veil of ignorance back and the frontier of discovery forward”.

Was Sam hinting at this insane new breakthrough?

OUR VIEW:

This is really interesting, but we don’t know how true it is. Let’s see if OpenAI announce something major soon.

😆 BILL GATES SAYS 3-DAY WORK WEEK IS COMING

We’ve heard this before, right?

Well, to be fair I don’t remember anyone mentioning a 3-day work week, it’s usually the mythical 4-day work week we hear about.

Anyway, in a podcast interview, Bill Gates has predicted that the rise of AI could one day lead to people working only three days a week.

AI to the rescue?

“If you eventually get a society where you only have to work three days a week or something, that's probably ok,” said Gates.

Thanks, Bill.

He also argued how AI could help fight the trend of ageing populations in many countries. He said it could improve health care and education in many developing nations also.

Gates also hit back at concerns about AI by pointing out how the modern world has transitioned away from agriculture over the past century, saying that farming only makes up a tiny % of major economies now.

OUR VIEW:

Nice idea Bill, but it isn’t going to happen by kindness and magic.
