⚡️ OPENAI COULD START MAKING ITS OWN CHIPS!
OpenAI, everyone’s favourite AI company, is reportedly exploring the possibility of manufacturing processing chips in-house amid a global shortage of the expensive and complex AI hardware it relies on.
A Reuters report citing people familiar with the matter said OpenAI has even evaluated a company as a potential target for an acquisition to help with its AI chip-making ambitions.

Coming soon to OpenAI (Americans, that’s a real chip)
The company has not yet decided if it will move on the acquisition, with the company discussing multiple solutions to address the current chip shortage it faces.
If OpenAI does take this route, they will join both Google and Amazon who manufacture their own chips, although the expertise and engineering required means it is highly unlikely they could produce powerhouse chips like the Nvidia H100 without years of research.
Will OpenAI making its own chips make them unstoppable?

🤖 LINKEDIN ADDS AI HIRING ASSISTANT
LinkedIn has added one of its first AI features - a hiring assistant for recruiters.
“Recruiter 2024” enables recruiters to ask questions using “natural language” to find candidates on the platform. In addition, the tool can be used to create ad campaigns for jobs.
Along with the AI-assisted recruiting tool, LinkedIn also launched AI-powered coaching in its LinkedIn Learning section. It said the AI aspect will be able to tailor content and offer real-time advice based on the user’s career aspirations.
Over the last year, LinkedIn reported a 65% increase in interest in its AI course offerings. The new AI-powered recruiting and learning tools will be available to a “small handful” of users and will be made more widely available in the future.
Being owned by Microsoft, It probably won’t be long until LinkedIn is crammed with cool AI features for all of its users.
