OpenAI drops GPT-6, and it’s cheaper
OpenAI has launched GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, two new models designed to bring GPT-6-level improvements to faster and cheaper options.
Both models were trained using similar methods to GPT-6 Astra, with upgrades across professional tasks, coding, factual accuracy and computer use.
OpenAI says API prices for Sol and Luna are also 50% lower than GPT-5.6 promotional pricing.
GPT-6 Sol is aimed at more demanding work, while Luna offers a cheaper option for tasks at scale.
