π« NY TIMES SAYS NO TO AI TRAINING
The New York Times has become the first major news outlet to officially declare that you cannot use its content to train AI models.
They updated their ToS on August 3rd to prohibit its content β inclusive of text, photographs, images, audio/video clips, βlook and feel,β metadata, or compilations β from being used in the development of βany software program, including, but not limited to, training a machine learning or artificial intelligence (AI) system.

πΈπ¦ SAUDIS RUSH TO BUY AI CHIPS
The Middle East is pivoting its attention to AI, as both Saudi Arabia and the UAE are rushing to buy up Nvidia GPUs to power their planned models.
The Financial Times reports that the Gulf states are stockpiling GPUs in an attempt to join the AI arms race taking place across the globe. Itβs like Wacky Races over here.
According to sources, Saudi Arabia has bought at least 3,000 of Nvidiaβs H100 chips β a $40,000 processor described by Nvidia chief Jensen Huang as βthe worldβs first computer chip designed for generative AIβ Thatβs $120M on graphics cards. Talk about an expensive PC build!
King Saud University is also reportedly building an AI Super Computer to train up AI models.
Welcome to the race, Saudi Arabia!
