Nvidia, the leading chipmaker in AI technology, has seen a massive profit increase, reaching $14.88 billion in the first quarter, up from $2.04 billion last year.
This surge has pushed Nvidia's stock to a record high.
Revenue more than tripled to $26.04 billion, surpassing analysts' predictions.
Nvidia forecasts revenue of about $28 billion for the second quarter. Nvidia also announced a 10-for-1 stock split effective 7th June, making shares more accessible.

The company recently overtook Saudi Aramco to become the world's third-most valuable firm, after Apple and Microsoft, with a market value exceeding $2.1 trillion.
Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, highlighted the growing demand for their chips, which are essential for the AI advancements pursued by tech giants like Google, Meta, OpenAI, and Amazon.
Nvidia is at the forefront of the AI revolution, driving significant shifts in data centre technology and AI development.

In a speech at the Elysée Palace, French President Emmanuel Macron declared that Paris will become the "city of artificial intelligence."
Addressing tech leaders and politicians, Macron unveiled a significant investment in AI and quantum technology, alongside new training programmes to develop tech talent.
Ahead of the VivaTech fair in Paris, expected to attract 150,000 visitors, Macron emphasised the importance of AI for France and Europe.
He announced a new fund, partially state-financed, to support AI development in five key areas: talent, infrastructure, applications, investment, and governance.
Key points from Macron's address include:
Paris aims to be a global AI hub.
There will be significant investment in AI talent and public engagement.
An emphasis on European collaboration in AI development.
Macron outlined a €400 million investment in nine universities to advance AI research and nurture talent, to train 40,000 to 100,000 individuals annually, particularly encourage more women to join the field.
He also announced that the Conseil national du numérique would receive €10 million to organise public debates and “cafés” about AI across France, ensuring citizens are informed and involved.
Stressing the importance of a European approach, Macron revealed plans for a Franco-German initiative to lead AI efforts, marking it as a strategic moment for profound choices in research, training, and investment.
