No Wi-Fi? No problem

MICROSOFT
Microsoft is testing AI search for Windows 11 Insider testers.
Announced in October, it lets you search for local files using everyday language, but it’s only available on Copilot Plus PCs.
Here’s how it works:
Where you can use it: Search in Settings, File Explorer, or the taskbar. It works offline, thanks to the NPU chips in Copilot Plus computers.
What it can search: For now, it only works with Windows settings and certain file types like JPEG, PNG, PDF, TXT, and XLS.
Customising search: You can choose which files to include in the search under Settings > Privacy & security > Searching Windows. You can also index your whole PC by turning on “Enhanced.”
The future is indexed
Microsoft plans to add cloud file searches, like OneDrive, in the future.
Right now, AI search is rolling out to Snapdragon-powered Copilot Plus PCs, with Intel and AMD support coming later.
It works in six languages, including English, French, and German.
Another new feature in this update is Click to Do.
By holding the Windows key and left-clicking, you can use AI tools like “Rewrite” to refine text or fix grammar.
That rage when you search for a file and it never comes up? Gone.
