💰 MUSK TRIES TO RAISE $1B FOR HIS AI STARTUP
Elon Musk is trying to raise a huge $1B of funding for his AI startup, xAI.
xAI has filed with the U.S. securities regulator to raise up to $1 billion in an equity offering, according to a filing on Tuesday.
AI money is flying around
AI startups have been flooded with money - thanks to the ongoing AI gold rush we are living through.
It looks like Elon wants a slice of that pie.
The company has already raised $135M in this round of funding.

Safer or not?
Musk has been vocal about his plans to build safer AI. In a Twitter Spaces event earlier in the year he said that rather than explicitly programming morality into its AI, xAI will seek to create a "maximally curious" AI.
XAI last month launched "Grok" a chatbot rivaling OpenAI's ChatGPT - although the reception has been incredibly lukewarm to those that have access.

It will be interesting to see what Elon is cooking! Hopefully he manages it better than Twitter…

😮 GETTY IMAGES SUES STABLE DIFFUSION
Getty Images has sued Stability AI, the makers of the Stable Diffusion image generator.
Getty is insisting that its copyrighted library of images was used to train the SD model illegally.
See you in court!
The Uk court ruled on Friday that Getty’s claim that the startup used its copyrighted library of images to train the Stable Diffusion model should be investigated further.
On the other hand, Stability argued the case should not be heard in a UK court because it said no one involved in the training or development of Stable Diffusion was based in the UK.
They also insist they trained the model using US-based cloud computing power from AWS.
The lawsuit will now go to trial.
OUR VIEW:
Get the popcorn out… this could be a huge blow to Stability AI… could they be the first casualty in the AI copyright wars?!
