📈 MICROSOFT LEADING GOOGLE ON AI

Both Google and Microsoft have just released their latest financials, and there’s a clear winner - thanks to AI.

Microsoft saw earnings and share price jump thanks to its generative AI products, while Google sagged behind because their heavy investments into AI have yet to pay off, causing a slump in their share price.

The contrasting performance of the tech giants underlined the early lead Microsoft has taken in the big AI arms race. With a huge investment in OpenAI, Microsoft has positioned itself very well, with shares up approximately 5%.

It first invested $1bn in start-up OpenAI more than three years ago and has since put OpenAI’s models at the core of its AI offering.

Alphabet (Google) meanwhile, saw shares slump as much as 9%, showing that if you aren’t leading on AI, you’re worthless to Wall Street right now.

Microsoft have effectively monetised AI already and implemented across a range of products, while Google has much more limited AI offerings, although it’s newest smartphones - The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro - are pushing hard on their AI capability.

If it wasn’t obvious already, we’re well and truly in the AI gold rush.

AI Anomaly Detection refers to the identification of unusual patterns or outliers in datasets that deviate significantly from the norm. Machine learning models for anomaly detection are trained to learn what "normal" data looks like, and they can then flag any data that appears to be anomalous.

😂 AIRBNB USE AI TO STOP PARTIES

Airbnb HATES parties. If you’ve ever used the accomodation booking app, and you probably have, you’ll know how strict their party policies are.

In fact, they wentas far as announcing a “global party ban” to try and end the practice. But that doesn’t stop some people…

So now, Airbnb is turning to AI to try and stop partying once and for all!

Now when you try to make an Airbnb booking, a new AI automatically looks out for things such as how recently you created your account, and whether you are trying to rent a property in the same town or city as where you live, a major giveaway for party-planners, apparently.

It also questions the duration of your stay - one night only is a potential concern - and whether the planned visit is occurring during a celebration period such as Halloween or New Year's Eve.

If the AI deems that the risk of a party booking is too high, it will prevent the booking, or instead guide the person to the website of one of its partner hotel companies.

Guys, AI says we can’t party anymore. Boo!
