Could Meta be about to sneak into first place in the AI tech race!?

One major venture capitalist thinks so. Bill Gurley, a partner at Benchmark, said founders he works with believe Meta’s new large language model, Llama 2, has the most momentum in the battle of the large artificial intelligence models.

Why’s that important? Well, remember what these guys do. They decide where to allocate millions and millions of dollars. It’s fair to say they do their research, and they have their sources.

Apparently, Meta’s interesting move to make their model completely open source has their competitors quaking in their boots.

A Meta spokesperson said in July that the company is “not focused on monetisation for Llama 2.” By making it free, they have made their model the most accessible. Capture market share now, monetise later?

AI researchers have found that Llama 2 outperforms other similar open-source AI language models and is on par with models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, for some tasks anyway. And it’s only gonna get better!

It’s been a great day for Mr Musk. Tesla’s stock has shot up 10% after a Morgan Stanley analyst upgraded their stock.

Why have they done that, you might wonder?

Something called AI. Maybe you’ve heard of it.

The investor touted tesla as being both an automaker and a tech company, and says it’s potential to sell services, as well as their custom AI chip, mean the future looks bright for Elon’s car company.

The analyst is honing in on Dojo, Tesla's custom supercomputing system that trains its full self-driving model. Dojo could add "up to" $500 billion to Tesla's enterprise value, according to them.
