London got a front-row seat to AI agents

At Google Cloud Summit London, Mindstream got a close look at where enterprise AI is heading next.

The event was packed, the demos were everywhere, and the energy was genuinely electric.

The big message was clear: agentic AI is moving from “nice idea” to “companies are actually using this now.”

Google Cloud showed how its Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform is being used across retail, banking and consultancy.

AI is no longer just answering questions. It is starting to guide customers, flag risks, cut admin and support real business decisions.

Retail had a strong showing.

THG Ingenuity launched an AI Shopping Assistant with Google Cloud, with early results for Myprotein showing an eight-times higher conversion rate compared with the site average.

It also saw a 5.5x rise in first-time buyer conversions and a 22% lift in average basket size.

Finally, an online shopping assistant that might understand “I need protein powder but I am emotionally tired.”

In finance, HSBC and Google Cloud announced a multi-year AI partnership covering more than 200 planned use cases over the next two years.

The first areas include personalised wealth management support, faster financial crime risk detection, and AI tools that reduce admin for frontline staff and relationship managers.

Deloitte is also launching a new London AI Studio with Google Cloud in late July.

The space will help UK businesses move from AI experiments to production-ready systems, while Deloitte trains 1,000 UK AI and data specialists on Gemini Enterprise.

In brief:

  • Google Cloud is positioning Gemini Enterprise as a key platform for agentic AI.

  • THG Ingenuity, HSBC and Deloitte show how these tools are already being tested in business.

  • The shift is moving from AI pilots to systems that support decisions, automate work and improve customer experiences.

Someone give Gemini a latte or something

Google Cloud is also opening the Model Garden at Platform 37, an invitation-only customer hub in London for senior leaders and strategic customers.

It will host workshops, demos and private sessions to help companies turn AI ideas into practical plans.

The main takeaway was simple: agentic AI is done being treated like a polished demo.

It is starting to sit inside the everyday systems companies use to sell, manage risk, support teams and get work done.

We went to Google Cloud Summit London and honestly? She was packed, she was loud, she was demo-heavy, and agentic AI was very much the main character.- MG
