AI FAIL
Humane has announced it will stop selling its AI Pin and is selling “key AI capabilities” to HP for $116 million.
AI Pins already in use will work as usual until 3 PM ET on February 28, 2025, after which they will become… paperweights.
They will lose all cloud-based features, including calling, messaging, AI responses, and cloud access.
Users should download any saved photos, videos, and notes before this deadline, as they will be permanently deleted.
As a reminder, the AI Pin launched less than a year ago. And it was $700. And you had to pay a $24 monthly subscription too!
For refunds, Humane states:
AI Pins are only eligible for refunds if they are within the 90-day return window from the original shipment date. Requests must be submitted by February 27, 2025.
Customers waiting for a replacement charging case will automatically get a refund after February 28, 2025, for that part of their purchase.
Yeah, if you bought one more than 3 months ago you’re SOL.
HP’s acquisition includes Humane’s AI platform Cosmos, technical talent, and over 300 patents.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you…
