🤖 GOOGLE ANNOUNCES NEW AI TOOL FOR DOCTORS!
Google has announced new artificial intelligence-powered search capabilities that will help doctors quickly access information from different data sources. Dr Google anyone?

Dr Google is here to diagnose you!
As it stands, healthcare information is stored in a wide variety of formats and systems. Google wants to change that. Their new tool brings it all to one place, with an AI-powered search making it easy to find all information the could possibly need.
The new features will be offered to health and life sciences organisations through Google’s Vertex AI Search platform. The company said it will help save healthcare workers valuable time and energy.
Will this become commonplace for doctors all over the world?
Would you trust Dr Google to diagnose you?

🏥 AI CAN DIAGNOSE SCHIZOPHRENIA
It’s another step forward in medical AI, this time for mental health. Scientists have developed a new tool, based on AI language models, that could help to diagnose schizophrenia.
Researchers at University College London and Oxford University found that an automated analysis of language could help mental health doctors to diagnose and assess psychiatric conditions.
A new experiment found that AI could be helpful in diagnosing schizophrenia. For the study, researchers asked 26 participants with schizophrenia and 26 control participants to complete two verbal fluency tasks.
To analyse the answers given by participants, the team used an AI language model that had been trained on vast amounts of internet text to represent the meaning of words in a similar way to humans.
Researchers found that the answers given by control participants were more predictable by the AI model than those generated by people with schizophrenia.
This difference was found to be largest in patients with the most severe symptoms. In other words, the less accurate AI was at predicting the outcome… the more accurate it correlated to a schizophrenia diagnosis.
This is an interesting twist on how AI predictions usually work.
