🔎 GOOGLE TESTS AI WATERMARKING
Google is testing a system that can watermark AI generated content, in an attempt to be able to clearly label AI images and stop the spread of disinformation.
Google's system creates an effectively invisible watermark, which will allow people to use its software to find out instantly whether the picture is real or made by machine.
Yes, I managed to find a Simpsons gif for this.
The system works by embedding changes to individual pixels in images so watermarks are invisible to the human eye, but detectable by computers, but Gooogle has already warned it isn’t completely fool-proof.
Google has also said it will only apply to images created using Google’s own image generator, Imagen. Talk about a let down! Don’t we need a system that can identify any AI image?

📱 SNAPCHAT ADDS “DREAMS” AI FEATURE
Snapchat has added a new AI feature called Dreams to the platform.
Dreams lets users take selfies and then customise them to a certain theme, creating a “dream” of themselves.
After uploading a series of real-life selfies in the app specifically for Dreams, Snapchat displays a series of eight-photo packs to choose from with themes like doppelgangers or back-to-school.
The first pack of Dreams is free to make and each additional one costs $1 as an in-app purchase. Snapchat users in Australia and New Zealand are getting access to Dreams starting today, followed by access opening up to the rest of the world over the coming weeks.
