Google’s new AI feature just ended the scheduling struggle

Google has launched a new Gemini-powered tool called “Help me schedule” to make booking meetings through Gmail easier.

It looks at your Google Calendar, finds free time slots, and suggests them in your email. When the other person picks a time, the event is automatically added to both calendars.

The feature currently works for one-on-one meetings only.

Unlike tools such as Calendly or Doodle, Google’s version uses Gemini AI to understand the context of your email, for example, if someone mentions a 30-minute chat next week, it will only show half-hour slots before the week ends.

This is part of a larger update bringing more AI tools to Google Workspace, including:

  • Nano Banana, a new image-editing model.

  • “Gems,” which let you share custom AI assistants with your team.

  • New NotebookLM formats and better AI video tools in Google Vids.

Google also said that Keep reminders will now automatically move to Google Tasks for easier task management.

If this tool cancels meetings too, I’d marry it. - MG
