Gemini meets camera roll

Google Photos is adding a new Video Remix tool that can edit videos in seconds using Google’s Gemini Omni AI model.

The feature lets users brighten dark clips, change backgrounds, add cinematic lighting, or apply styles like watercolour, sketchbook, and oil painting, all from the Create tab in Google Photos.

Here’s what you should know:

  • What’s new: AI video editing in Google Photos.

  • What it does: Changes lighting, backgrounds, and visual styles.

  • Who gets it first: Eligible paid Google AI subscribers in selected countries.

Premiere Pro, avert eyes

It means users can quickly make a video look like it was filmed in a greenhouse, add a soft morning glow, or turn a clip into an artsy edit without needing professional software.

Video Remix is rolling out to eligible Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in selected countries, including the US, India, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, and Turkey.
