🚗 ONE AI CAMERA CATCHES 300 DRIVERS IN 72 HOURS
A newly installed AI-powered traffic camera has caught 297 drivers breaking the law… in just 72 hours!
The new camera has been installed in a major road in Cornwall, using a combination of camera types including infra-red to detect driving crimes.
We’re not talking about speeding here - all of the offences were either driving without a seatbelt or using a mobile phone while driving. Yes, AI can see that!
Although the cameras use AI to detect potential offences, all images are reviewed by a person, said Devon and Cornwall Police.
In the first 72 hours of use, the AI camera system detected 117 mobile phone offences and 180 seat belt offences. Wow. Come on guys, wear your seatbelts!
