Forget typing, search just started talking back

Google has launched Search Live across the US, letting people search by talking to an AI assistant.

You can ask questions out loud, get instant answers, and see links from the web.

If you want, you can also turn on your camera so the AI can understand what you’re looking at.

The feature is built into the Google app on Android and iOS under the new “Live” button, and it’s also in the Lens app.

In brief:

  • Search Live answers questions in real time with voice or camera input.

  • Found in the Google and Lens apps, US-only, English only.

  • Previously in Google Labs, now widely available.

Point, ask, done

It was first tested in Google Labs and is only available in English for now.

Google says you can use Search Live to identify tools for making matcha, or to figure out where a cable goes when setting up electronics.

Okay but imagine arguing with Google in real-time??????
