The Putin biopic made with AI

Polish director Patryk Vega is set to release "Putin," a unique biopic of the Russian president on 26 September, which will be available in 35 countries.

Unsurprisingly, the Russian president wasn’t available for filming - so Vega came up with a 2024 solution.

The film uses advanced AI to render Mr Putin. He decided to use AI due to the unavailability of sufficient archival material for a traditional cinematic portrayal.

Putin on the big screen

The project, which began development in May 2022, also includes footage shot by Ukrainian filmmakers during the Russian invasion, adding depth and authenticity to the portrayal.

The film presents an intimate look at Putin's life, depicting various aspects, including unusual scenarios - like him in a nappy (that’s a diaper, American friends).
