GAMMA
Far beyond the pitch deck
Gamma, an AI platform for creating presentations and websites, is launching a new image tool as it tries to compete more closely with Canva and Adobe.
The new product, called Gamma Imagine, lets users create brand-specific marketing assets using text prompts.
This includes things like interactive charts, visual content, social media graphics, infographics, and other marketing materials.
Gamma already has more than 100 templates that users can work with alongside its AI tools.
To support these data-based design features, Gamma is also connecting with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Make, Zapier, Atlassian, n8n, and Superhuman Go.
Gamma’s CEO and co-founder, Grant Lee, said the company noticed that many early users wanted more than just presentation tools.
They also needed help with other types of visual design. That led Gamma to build a broader set of tools that go beyond standard slide decks.
Here’s what you should know:
Gamma is moving beyond presentations with a new AI image tool called Gamma Imagine.
The tool is built to help users create branded visual assets from simple text prompts.
Gamma says its user base is now close to 100 million, showing strong growth since its last funding round.
Lee said Gamma sits between professional design platforms like Adobe and Figma, and older tools like Microsoft PowerPoint.
The company is aiming at knowledge workers and business professionals who need to create visual content but do not always have access to design support.
In November, Gamma raised $68 million in a Series B round led by a16z, at a $2.1 billion valuation.
At the time, the company said it had $100 million in annual recurring revenue and 70 million users. It has now told TechCrunch that it is getting close to 100 million users.
