😈 EVIL CHATGPT IS BACK!
If you’ve been following Mindstream (or AI news in general) for long enough, you might remember the so-called evil version of ChatGPT - WormGPT.
It promised to do everything ChatGPT wouldn’t and be a tool designed for nefarious use.
Well, it’s back in the news.
Researchers are warning it will let hackers develop sophisticated attacks on a significantly larger scale.
Hackers use WormGPT by taking out a subscription via the dark web. They can then access the bot which will happily spit out phishing emails galore.
Tests run by researchers found the chatbot could write a persuasive email from a company's chief executive asking an employee to pay a fraudulent invoice.

Anyone with a decent knowledge of AI tools like ChatGPT can already get them to write dodgy emails and more with a bit of tweaking.
WormGPT doesn’t produce anything more effective than ChatGPT could. It can’t “hack” into computers, or do anything unique - it’s literally just a chatbot.
There’s no reason to be scared of WormGPT and its emails. So next time you see it mentioned in the news, remember it’s probably clickbait.

Google’s DeepMind AI has come in clutch once again, as scientists have developed another major medical breakthrough (what’s that, like a thousand now?)
The new program can predict whether millions of genetic mutations are either harmless or likely to cause disease, which will speed up research and the diagnosis of rare disorders.
The program makes predictions about missense mutations, where a single letter is misspelt in the DNA code. They are often harmless but they can cause diseases from cystic fibrosis and sickle-cell anaemia to cancer and problems with brain development.
Based on the findings, the scientists have released a free online catalogue of the predictions to help geneticists and clinicians who are either studying how mutations drive diseases or diagnosing patients who have rare disorders.
