EU Parliament just made AI a cybersecurity problem

The European Parliament has reportedly blocked lawmakers from using built-in AI tools on their work devices, over privacy and cybersecurity concerns.

An internal email seen by Politico said the Parliament’s IT team cannot guarantee that data uploaded to AI company servers is fully secure.

They are also still reviewing what information may be shared when these tools are used.

For now, officials believe it is safer to keep AI features disabled.

The worry is that using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot often means uploading sensitive documents to the cloud.
