ESPN wants your attention. All of it
ESPN has revamped its mobile app ahead of the launch of its long-awaited live sports streaming service on 21st August.
Priced at $29.99/month, the new service will include all 12 ESPN channels , from ESPN and ESPN2 to ESPNU and SECN, all accessible within the app.
One of the biggest updates is a TikTok-style vertical video feed designed for quick highlights, available in a new “verts” tab and on the homepage.
ESPN is also testing a new “SC For You” feature in beta, which uses AI-generated voices from SportsCenter anchors to deliver a personalised daily update based on your favourite teams, leagues, and sports.
This will be available on the mobile app, ESPN.com, and select smart TVs.
The app now lets you connect your phone to your TV while watching live sports, giving you real-time stats, alerts, play-by-play updates, betting insights, and ESPN Fantasy access, all while controlling the livestream from your mobile.
If you’re tuning in late, you can catch up quickly with a series of highlights, restart the game from the beginning, or jump straight to live coverage.
ESPN is also rolling out multiview support on “all major” smart TV platforms, letting fans watch up to four games at once.
Looking ahead, the company says the app will continue to evolve with regular feature updates.
