Editing photos manually? Couldn’t be us anymore
At Wednesday’s Made by Google event, the company announced new Google Photos features that let you edit pictures just by asking.
The new “edit by asking” tool is rolling out first on Pixel 10 devices in the U.S. and allows you to describe the edits you want, either by speaking or typing.
Powered by Gemini, the feature can handle everything from basic fixes to more creative changes.
You can ask it to “remove the cars in the background”, “restore this old photo”, or even add fun elements like sunglasses or a party hat.
If you’re unsure where to start, you can simply say “make it better,” and Google Photos will automatically suggest improvements.
Google is also introducing C2PA Content Credentials on Pixel 10 devices.
This standard improves transparency by showing how images were created and whether AI was involved.
TL;DR
“Edit by asking” uses Gemini to let you tweak photos using natural language.
Pixel 10 introduces C2PA Content Credentials for better transparency on image creation.
The feature launches in the U.S. first and rolls out globally on Google Photos soon.
Any photos taken with the Pixel 10’s camera will include these credentials, even if no AI tools were used.
The tool supports follow-up requests too, so you can keep refining your edits step by step.
While the feature launches on Pixel 10 this week, it’ll be coming to Google Photos on iOS and Android in the weeks ahead.
“Make it better” — me to my life, not just my photos.
