ANTHROPIC

Claude’s in your Word docs, literally

Anthropic is bringing its Claude AI assistant into Microsoft 365, letting users pull information directly from Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, without uploading anything manually.

The update is designed to make Claude more useful at work.

Team and Enterprise users can now link their Microsoft 365 accounts once administrators enable the feature, allowing Claude to read and analyse emails, chats, and documents to give better answers.

A new enterprise search tool also lets Claude scan across a company’s different systems, helpful for onboarding, finding experts, or spotting patterns in customer feedback.

TL;DR

  • Claude now connects directly to Microsoft 365 apps and data.

  • Enterprise search helps teams find information across multiple platforms.

  • Microsoft is widening its AI partnerships beyond OpenAI.

The integration uses Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source system that Microsoft is adopting across Windows as it shifts towards AI-powered PCs.

Microsoft is also using Anthropic’s models to boost tools like Copilot Researcher, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, and its new Office Agent, which can create Word and PowerPoint documents through chat.
