ANTHROPIC
Claude just became your Slack coworker
Slack users can now use Anthropic’s Claude Code directly inside Slack by tagging Claude in any coding-related message.
The new beta feature lets Claude recognise when a request involves code, pull in context from the Slack thread, and use any linked code repositories to handle the task.
It removes the need to copy bug reports or snippets into a separate tool.
Everything runs through the existing Claude Slack app, no extra download needed, as long as your Claude Code setup is already connected to the repos you want to use.
In short:
Claude Code now works inside Slack and can detect coding tasks automatically.
It uses context from Slack threads and linked repositories to respond more accurately.
The update follows Opus 4.5, which brings coding improvements but still has safety gaps.
Your bug reports needed this
Anthropic has been busy. Just two weeks ago, it launched Claude Opus 4.5 model.
The AI upstart says its new model performs better than Google’s Gemini 3 on coding tasks, though early tests show it still struggles to reliably block harmful code requests.
