ANTHROPIC
Claude is quietly becoming healthcare’s new backend
Anthropic is expanding Claude into healthcare and life sciences, moving it beyond research and into real clinical and regulatory workflows.
The company has launched Claude for Healthcare, a HIPAA-ready toolkit for providers and payers, and added new life sciences features for clinical trials and drug development.
These updates build on improvements to Claude Opus 4.5, which Anthropic says performs more reliably on complex medical tasks with fewer factual errors.
In short:
Claude is expanding into healthcare operations and regulation
New tools target admin-heavy medical workflows
Personal health features are opt-in and privacy-controlled
The boring win
Claude can now connect directly to systems like Medicare coverage rules, ICD-10 codes, and provider registries, helping teams handle prior authorisation, claims, and care coordination faster.
Optional integrations also allow individuals to connect health data so Claude can summarise records and explain results, without using that data to train models.
You always were my favourite, Claude. - MV
