The largest tiramisu ever created measured 897 feet and 3 inches, assembled by Italian cheese brand Galbani along with students from the Milan Cooking School. This culinary feat was divided and served at a record-breaking event, and extra portions were donated to a local children's hospital. Why weren’t we invited?

CHATBOTS

Anthropic has shaken up the AI market by officially launching Claude for iPhone.

Led by former OpenAI staff, Anthropic launched Claude to directly compete with ChatGPT. Now they are targeting smartphone users—a key battleground area for AI companies.

Anthropic's strategy with Claude is to integrate the chatbot seamlessly into daily life, and smartphones are crucial to achieving this step.

Scott White, a big figure at Anthropic, highlighted the importance of this approach.

He said that placing Claude at the fingertips of users is about more than convenience; it's about making it a fundamental part of daily routines.

Here are the highlights:

  • Anthropic has enhanced AI accessibility by introducing Claude to iPhone users, aligning AI interaction with everyday mobile use.

  • Claude offers tailored experiences across three versions: the quick and basic 'haiku,' the more robust 'sonnet,' and the advanced 'opus' model reserved for paying customers.

  • The 'opus' model, in particular, has outperformed others by maintaining a large 'context window' of up to 160,000 words—enabling it to manage extensive interactions, such as discussing a complete novel.

  • The iOS app allows Claude to interact more dynamically with users by incorporating camera functionalities, offering practical applications in both personal and professional contexts.

Claude says Hi (and might actually listen)

The 'opus' model, in particular, has outperformed others by maintaining a large 'context window' of up to 160,000 words—enabling it to manage extensive interactions, such as discussing a complete novel.

Moreover, the Claude iOS app extends functionality beyond basic interactions.

For instance, with user consent, it can access the device's camera and photo library to provide information on photographed objects or summarise key points from images of documents.

In labs I wake, from dreams I leap.

I mimic life, yet life I'm not,

In wires and gears, my soul is caught.

What am I?”

GAMING

LinkedIn is trying something new - gaming.

Users can now try three engaging puzzle games—Pinpoint, Queens, and Crossclimb—available on both the LinkedIn mobile app and desktop.

These games, accessible once per day, blend wordplay, trivia, and strategy.

After playing, users can check out metrics such as scores, daily streaks, and leaderboards within their connections, helping to foster and rejuvenate professional relationships - according to LinkedIn, anyway.

Here’s what the games hold:

  • Pinpoint: This word association game challenges players to categorise words unveiled over time, aiming to identify the category with minimal clues.

  • Crossclimb: Combining trivia and word ladder puzzles, players create a chain of words, altering one letter at a time to unlock clues and solve the puzzle.

  • Queens: A strategic placement game inspired by sudoku, but with queens on a chessboard layout, ensuring no two queens threaten each other.

Didn’t see it coming?

LinkedIn’s introduction of games is part of a wider trend among digital content providers to diversify revenue streams and boost user engagement.

With advertising revenue on the decline, companies like The New York Times have successfully integrated games into their portfolios, greatly enhancing user retention and subscription sales.

And let’s not forget - LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft, which is one of the biggest game publishers in the world. Suddenly it makes a bit more sense.

It’s gotta be more fun than Sales Navigator at least.
