ANTHROPIC
Claude 4.5 just made every dev tool look old
Anthropic has released Claude Sonnet 4.5, calling it its most advanced model yet.
It shows major gains in coding, reasoning, and computer use, leading on benchmarks like SWE-bench Verified and OSWorld (61.4% vs 42.2% for Sonnet 4 just months ago).
New updates include:
Claude Code: checkpoints, a new terminal, and a VS Code extension.
Claude apps: now run code, create files, and connect with Chrome.
Claude API: adds memory tools and context editing for longer tasks.
Chrome just got Clauded
Alongside this, Anthropic has released the Claude Agent SDK, giving developers the same infrastructure used internally to build agents with memory management, permissions, and coordination.
The company says Sonnet 4.5 is its most aligned model so far, released under AI Safety Level 3 (ASL-3) with filters to reduce high-risk outputs.
It also shows progress in defending against prompt injection attacks.
A short-term preview, Imagine with Claude, lets Max subscribers see the model generate software in real time for the next five days.
Claude Sonnet 4.5 is available globally at the same price as before: $3/$15 per million tokens.
$3 for this much brainpower? Wild.
