ChatGPT just moved into your health folder
ChatGPT Health is a new, dedicated experience designed to bring your health information together in one secure place, helping you better understand and organise everyday health questions.
Health is already one of the most common ways people use ChatGPT, with over 230 million users globally asking health and wellness questions each week.
ChatGPT Health builds on this by allowing users to securely connect medical records and wellness apps, so responses are based on personal context rather than generic information.
Health is designed to support, not replace, medical care.
It does not provide diagnosis or treatment, but helps users prepare for appointments, understand trends over time, and navigate health information more confidently.
The experience runs in a separate, protected space within ChatGPT, with added privacy controls and encryption.
Health conversations are kept isolated from other chats and are not used to train foundation models.
In short:
Health data is kept in a separate, secure space
Responses are grounded in connected personal information
The tool supports medical conversations but does not replace clinicians
Private by default
Users can view, manage, or delete their Health data at any time.
Users can connect medical records (currently U.S. only) and apps such as Apple Health and MyFitnessPal to help summarise lab results, track activity and nutrition, or prepare questions for a doctor.
Access is rolling out gradually and is not yet available in the UK or EU.
The tool was developed with input from hundreds of physicians worldwide to ensure responses prioritise clarity, safety, and appropriate follow-up with healthcare professionals.
