ChatGPT can now handle your reminders (no excuses)

OPENAI

OpenAI has launched a new beta feature in ChatGPT called Tasks, letting users schedule reminders and actions.

It’s available now for Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers, aiming to make ChatGPT more like a digital assistant, similar to Google Assistant or Siri, but with smarter language skills.

What Tasks can do:

  • Schedule daily weather updates, passport renewal reminders, or even bedtime jokes.

  • Use the “4o with scheduled tasks” option in the model picker, then type what you need and when.

  • Manage tasks in chats or through a Tasks section on the web, where you can edit or cancel them.

Set it and don’t sweat it

Notifications are sent when tasks are done, and you can have up to 10 active tasks at once.

For now, this feature is only for paying users, with subscriptions costing $20 per month or $200 per year.

This update moves ChatGPT beyond instant replies, allowing it to handle scheduled tasks.

OpenAI is also working on tools like Operator, an AI that can control computers, and Caterpillar, which could help ChatGPT find information, solve problems, and send updates.

Tasks is still in beta, so it may not be fully reliable for time-sensitive actions.

OpenAI is using this stage to improve based on real-world feedback.

For now, it’s a helpful addition but you may need backups for important tasks.

Every day OpenAI makes something else obsolete…
