✋ AI COMPANIES AGREE TO SAFEGUARDS
American AI companies have jointly declared they have agreed to safeguards in the US, in a joint announcement with the President.
Representatives from Amazon, Anthropic, Google, Inflection, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI joined US President Joe Biden to make the announcement, seemingly in response to growing concerns about AI.
"We must be clear-eyed and vigilant about the threats emerging from emerging technologies that can pose - don't have to but can pose - to our democracy and our values," said the Prez.

The agreement means the companies will undertake security testing of their AI systems by experts before their release, ensure proper watermarking is introduced, publically report on their capabilities and research how to reduce bias and discrimination.
Biden also warned of the enormous responsibilities of using AI correctly. Is this the first step towards regulation in the US?

📱 CHATGPT APP ARRIVES EVERYWHERE
ChatGPT has launched its official Android app, meaning that the text generator is now available to everybody with a smartphone, and could soon be integrated in a wider number of smart devices.
When ChatGPT went public, users were frustrated they could only access it via the webpage on their phones, which was prone to errors.
After long time calls for an app, OpenAI obliged with an iOS-only app in May, but has now unveiled the Android version. Users can wait until next week for the official release or can “pre-order” for early access now.
This means that ChatGPT is now available across the world on almost every smartphone. Many more devices run Android than iOS, including things like smart TVs - could we see it integrated into our TVs soon?
