❌ IS THE BIG AI SUMMIT GOING TO FLOP?

The big AI summit is just a little over a week away, but is it going to turn into a giant flop?

While UK PM Rishi Sunak was hoping the summit would be his chance to stamp some British authority down on global AI, it is increasingly looking like things may not go to plan…

One of the executives invited has warned that the conference risks achieving very little, accusing powerful tech companies of attempting to “capture” the landmark meeting.

Connor Leahy, chief exec of the AI research company Conjecture, said he believed heads of government were poised to agree a style of regulation that would allow companies to continue developing “god-like” AI.

Is the AI summit going to go something like this?

Leahy is one of the 100 people invited to attend and highly doubts anything of significance will be accomplished.

He said: “The primary aim of responsible scaling is to provide a framework which looks like something was done so that politicians can go home and say: ‘We have done something.’ But the actual policy is nothing.” Oof.

Will Leahy be right on this? Is the big summit just for show?

AI has a new critic… Cher!

The 77-year-old has suggested AI should be made illegal in the entertainment industry!

Her comments came after she was "shocked" to hear an AI-generated version of herself covering a Madonna song.

She said: "Someone did me singing a Madonna song and it was kind of shocking. They didn't have it down perfectly.”

“But also, I've spent my entire life trying to be myself, and now these assholes are going to go take it? And they'll do my acting and they'll do my singing?”

It looks like Cher doesn’t BELIEVE in AI. If only she COULD TURN BACK TIME and stop it being invented!
