Apple finally addressed the “too many damn tools” problem
Apple has launched Apple Creator Studio, a new subscription that groups its professional creative apps into one package for video, music, design, and everyday creative work across Mac, iPad, and iPhone.
The suite brings together tools like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, and Apple’s productivity apps, with new intelligent features designed to save time and simplify creative workflows.
Most of the AI features run on-device, keeping user data private while helping creators work faster.
For video editing, Final Cut Pro adds tools such as transcript-based search, visual clip search, beat detection for music syncing, and automated montage creation on iPad.
Logic Pro introduces features like Synth Player and Chord ID, which help turn rough musical ideas into finished tracks more quickly.
Pixelmator Pro is now available on iPad for the first time, with full Apple Pencil support and touch-friendly image editing tools.
At a glance:
One subscription covers Apple’s main creative apps across video, music, design, and productivity
AI features focus on speeding up common tasks rather than changing how people create
Users can choose between a subscription or one-off purchases on Mac
No more Franken-setups
Apple Creator Studio also adds premium templates, shared media libraries, and optional AI-assisted features to Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform.
These apps remain free to use, with extra features available through the subscription.
The service launches on 28 January, priced at $12.99 per month or $129 per year, with a one-month free trial.
Students and educators can subscribe at a lower price, and Mac users can still buy several apps individually.
Not sexy. Very effective. Which somehow makes it sexy. - MG
