Alexa is getting deeper integrations

Alexa Plus has been showing up online for some users this month, and it is now officially available to all through an early access programme.

Anyone can sign up at Alexa.com and try Amazon’s AI chatbot from a new desktop-friendly web interface.

Alexa Plus is already included on new Echo devices, and Amazon has also rolled out updates to older Echo models.

The website option lets users handle common tasks with a keyboard and mouse, which can be more practical than voice-only commands.

From a laptop, people can manage to-do lists, make bookings, or organise plans more quickly.

A major feature is the ability to upload documents, emails, and images.

Alexa Plus can review those files and pull out useful details.

For example, recipes can become shopping lists, pet records can be added to calendars, and children’s sports schedules can be stored in one place.

Amazon is highlighting wider links with its own services.

The assistant can create meal plans and add groceries to Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods carts while following dietary needs.

Here’s what you should know:

  • Alexa Plus is now open for early access at Alexa.com

  • Users can upload files to automate calendars and lists

  • The assistant connects to smart home devices and Amazon grocery services

Early access, early tests

Smart home controls such as lights, locks, and cameras are also accessible beside the chat screen.

Competitors like Google Gemini offer similar smart home tools, though results may differ.

Alexa Plus is gaining new entertainment features as well.

These are designed to help users find Prime Video and Fire TV content more easily.

Amazon is also launching a sidebar to keep favourite Alexa features one click away, along with a redesigned mobile app.
