🤖 AI REVOLUTION IS COMING, SAYS OECD
Developed countries are on the cusp of an AI revolution which will completely transform them, the OECD is predicting.
“OECD economies may be on the cusp of an AI revolution which could fundamentally change the workplace.” the Paris-based organisation said on Tuesday.
They claim that the mass adoption of generative AI within the workplace will trigger a combination of job losses and ethical issues, as it warned the world’s most developed economies to prepare for a transformation in their labour force.
However, they also noted that Goldman Sachs is predicting that the adoption of AI will boost global output by 7% over the next decade.
Their report highlighted that AI does indeed creates new jobs and boosts wages, and that many workers said that these technologies had improved their enjoyment at work by automating dangerous or tedious tasks. It countered this by warning about ethical and copyrighting concerns.

👨🏽🔬 AI DESIGNING PROTEINS FOR SCIENCE
Artificial Intelligence is helping medical scientists by generating entirely new proteins that could transform medicine.
AI neural networks are driving the discovery of new fully working proteins, which are making research much faster.
“It’s been a completely transformative moment,” says Gevorg Grigoryan, chief technical officer of Generate Biomedicines, a biotechnology company applying protein design to drug development.
The proteins can be used to form the basis for vaccines, therapeutics and biomaterials. The tools in question have expanded their capabilities rapidly in the past year or so, with scientists now able to use a “text to protein” generator - essentially, the scientist inputs the base requirements, and the neural network generates them.
It’s amazing how AI is changing science research before our very eyes.
