Can artificial intelligence make your dating life more successful? A Sky News journalist ran an experiment to find out.

ChatGPT was used to set up a Tinder profile, producing a 100-word bio based on the information submitted. Here’s what it came out with after a couple of refinements:

"Health care pro, introverted Aquarius and amateur YouTuber. Summer-loving meat-eater with a weird sense of humour. Enjoys Radiohead, Coldplay, and Justin Bieber. Seeking a partner in crime for laughs and adventures."

I’ve got no idea whether that musical trio was AI-generated, although if it wasn’t, it goes some way to explaining why this guy couldn’t get a date.

ChatGPT also gave photo suggestions that the experimenter obliged with. It was then used to reply to any matches.

"I can only imagine how tiring it can be to learn so much new information, but at least you're making progress!" was ChatGPT's response when one of the experimenter’s matches revealed they'd started a new job, amongst other wacky unhuman responses.

Sadly the experimenter made clear it was just an experiment before any meetups were arranged, making it unclear how successful this strategy might be.

However, a new poll found that over half of men and women would use AI to sustain a conversation on a dating app. Wow. Hopefully the two halves match with each other. Catfishing just changed forever…

Use negatives in Midjourney

Remember to incorporate negative prompts in Midjourney by using the -no command. Just like a Google search, you can say what you want to specifically exclude. eg “cute giraffe on purple marshmallow background -no trees”

On the day when Hollywood actors began striking in droves over concerns about AI, Simon Pegg has a different view.

Pegg claims that AI will, in fact, push the boundaries of human creativity further and eliminate lazy filmmaking.

He said: “It might be a good thing in that it will stop us from being mediocre. There is a lot of mediocrity out there sometimes. Things that pass for entertainment are not quite as good as they should be.

“So if it ups our game because we want to escape the velocity of this creeping threat, then it’s a good thing.”

Pegg has become the first major star to fall on the side of AI in the debate over use of the technology in creative endeavours like filmmaking.

Pegg claimed that AI doesn’t have the “soul” to write proper scripts and that it will fail to be creative enough to play a large part in the process.
