AI is now coaching your soft skills—would you trust it?

AI CODING

AI is already helping people learn to code, and now it’s tackling workplace skills.

CodeSignal, known for its AI-powered coding tools, has launched training for leadership, communication, and workplace interactions.

The platform now offers over 100 courses on leadership, sales, negotiation, and public speaking.

Users can talk to an AI character using voice simulation and get feedback on their responses.

Instead of using third-party tools, CodeSignal built its own voice tech to save costs.

  • Access and pricing: Free users (90% of the platform) get limited daily access. Unlimited AI coaching costs $24.99.

  • For businesses: Companies can customise courses to match their workplace culture, even adjusting the AI’s personality for different scenarios.

Can it handle cultural differences?

AI training isn’t always one-size-fits-all. HR consultant Sumit Singla warns that AI might suggest direct feedback or assertiveness, which isn’t the norm in every culture.

It could also misinterpret humour or indirect communication styles.

CodeSignal says it’s working to include cultural context in training, but it’s a work in progress.

CodeSignal isn’t the only company using AI for soft skills—LinkedIn Learning is also in this space. The startup plans to launch mobile apps later this year to reach more users.

Love the idea, but does AI understand sarcasm? Doubt.
