Meetings. The bane of many office workers’ lives. How many times have you thought, “Do I even need to be in this…?” as the meeting goes over and you’ve lost another hour of productivity.
Well, AI is changing that! Microsoft’s new AI copilot can attend meetings for you.
This means rather than attending, you can simply get a concise AI summary to your inbox to see what you missed.
Or as Microsoft’s Derek Snyder put it:
"A lot of meetings might become webinars".
Microsoft says it hopes the tool will eliminate "drudgery”, but there are concerns the tool is not even legal in its current state.
Both Europe's AI act and China's AI regulations state that people must know if they are interacting with artificial intelligence rather than humans, whereas Copilot doesn’t do this - it can send emails on your behalf without letting on its AI.
One thing is for sure though - meetings are going to change, hopefully for the better.

Mindstream’s Adam Bidd used a call with friend of the newsletter Jérémy Grandillon for the test, where they discussed growth strategies.
Sybill automatically joins every meeting you’re invited to - it’s that simple. After the call concluded, Adam went into the Sybill dashboard and copied the full, highly accurate transcript of the call captured by Sybill into ChatGPT.
He asked ChatGPT to summarise the insights from the call. He then pasted in an old LinkedIn post and asked ChatGPT to copy the formatting, before editing the output for readability.
The final result?
An awesome LinkedIn post about growth, created solely from Sybill’s call insights!
