+ Can AI debunk conspiracies?
Pope Francis used to be a nightclub bouncer. Before leading the Catholic Church, the holy leader worked as a bouncer at a club in Buenos Aires. That means someone out there remembers being thrown out of a club by the Pope.

Adobe is set to launch a new AI video creation tool later this year in a limited release.
Adobe Firefly Video Model will be part of Adobe’s Firefly suite, which already includes tools for generating images and graphics.
The Firefly Video Model will allow users to create five-second clips from text or image prompts, with options to control camera angles, motion, and zoom.
Those Tik-Toks just got a whole lot better.
This positions Adobe in the growing market of AI video tools, competing with platforms like OpenAI’s Sora and Stability AI’s Stable Video Diffusion.
Alexandru Costin, Adobe’s VP of generative AI, emphasised the model’s focus on quality and prompt accuracy, saying it has been trained only on public domain and licensed content from Adobe Stock’s 400 million assets.
Here’s what you should know:
Firefly Video Model generates clips from text or image prompts with control over angles and motion.
Trained on licensed content, ensuring no issues with intellectual property.
Premiere Pro's new "Generative Extend" tool, which adds two seconds of video to fill gaps, has received strong customer feedback.
No more weird results
Additionally, Adobe is rolling out "Generative Extend" in Premiere Pro, allowing users to extend clips by two seconds to fill gaps.
This tool, previewed earlier this year, has been well-received by users.
I wish I had these tools in my YouTube montage days.

AI SOCIETY
Researchers have found that AI can help reduce belief in conspiracy theories, something long considered unlikely.
It’s commonly thought that people rarely change their minds once they believe in such theories, but a new study offers a different view.
Involving 2,190 participants, the study used an AI system called "DebunkBot."
The AI tailored its responses to each person’s beliefs, offering fact-based arguments to encourage critical thinking.
After these discussions, participants’ belief in conspiracy theories dropped by 20% on average, with some abandoning their beliefs completely.
Here are the key findings:
AI reduced belief in conspiracy theories by an average of 20%.
One in four participants fully changed their minds after talking to the AI.
Results lasted for at least two months.
No more “FAKE NEWS”
The study suggests AI could be useful in real-world scenarios, such as tackling conspiracy theories on social media.
However, some experts, like Professor Sander van der Linden from Cambridge, question whether people would engage with AI willingly.
They also wonder if similar results would occur if the conversation was with a human rather than AI.
Additionally, it's unclear how AI persuaded people, as it used tactics like empathy and affirmation.
Despite these uncertainties, the research shows AI’s potential in reducing misinformation.
